Trying to get a handle on internal organization

Good morning. This is me. We’ve been up for a while, but we were checking out Facebook and talking to a friend in IM’s .

Oh oh … we just heard a little crash so we met Sweetie Pie on the way to the kitchen and it seems the kitties have broken their bowl. It’s actually MY bowl – part of the dish set that I’d used for their wet food. They broke it straight in half.

*Sigh* Sweetie said I needed something on my feet though. I think he may have gone back to bed. He’s like that … very protective. No, not in going back to bed, but worrying over my feet.

Uh huh … I think here is the guilty party. How many times do I have to yell, no running in the house! They never listen! *Sigh*

Ok, getting past there …. They are both just sitting there staring at me like I DID IT! HMPF!

It’s already after 5:30 am. We got ourselves some cereal. I’m still after all this time finding it amazing that Rich is making sure there is another and another cereal box in the cupboard. I open the door thinking … there’s more! How does he keep up? He’s soooo cool!

Ok, BESIDE that? Umm, nothing much. You heard that I got the netbook yesterday and we’ve been playing with it.

Hehehe … they played a clip from Jay Leno last night. He said … I understand that President Obama is in England. But, then he said, but wait … if President Obama’s in England … who is running General Motors?

That’s funny! Hmm, maybe you have to be of this historical generation though. It is funny!

Ok, back to the netbook. Yesterday’s concentration was getting the first of the software programs set up. I ordered a Techsoup copy of some Microsoft programs like MS Office Pro 2007 and OneNote and a few others - Their organizer to! We’ll see … they have to come through the mail so I was a little disappointed with that, but I downloaded some 60 day trials in the meantime. That will definitely hold me over.

After that FINALLY was all taken care of we went back into the computer and updated with some security and other patches. There was 36 of them on one set. It takes a LONG while to do it … First you gotta download it and then you have to install.

Pswhoo.

We then found ourselves back on Facebook and mail and such. I think we might have talked a little bit there too. It seems to be the trend now days. And then we went back to the couch and finished up the downloads and set-ups and then we got things switched around with the bags. We’d been looking forward to that on the way home … putting everything together, but after we did it … we thought … is that ALL I got in my bag? Hardly enough to organize – you know after you throw away the receipts and extra pens.

I hope that it works and I’m able to do this new order. I still haven’t gotten figured out the lunch part. If it got out on the white bag it was no big deal because it could be washed and I tried not to store papers in there. But, the bag has got stains on it and I don’t want to carry it anymore. Unfortunately I don’t want to put my new leather case in harm’s way. What to do, what to do. I also don’t want to carry a plastic bag. I’m thinking that I should use for lunch stuff another leather bag I have … No not the gym one, but the one that is for carrying over one shoulder. I can imagine better that sitting on the outside of the briefcase one.

I’ve always worried about things weighing too much, because eventually I’m not going to want to deal with carrying more than is absolutely necessary. That’s how the camera bag has survived for so long. I think there will be reasons to carry it; just I don’t want to bother with it right now. I guess we’ll try the one shoulder bag for lunch. I like the safety of it. Darn fruit and pudding containers!

Do you worry about stuff like this too?

I think it’s the most interesting part of Facebook … basically to think about stuff that other people think of throughout the day.

We got a good reaction back from Brandon Fox. He had accepted me as a friend and said that he thought his mother would be very happy to hear from me and that … who could forget the Garveys! Well, I’m not sure how good THAT is, but it’s in the right direction. We wrote a short not back asking that he put us in touch. He seems like such a great kid!

There was something else that happened last night. Maury called about 10 pm. He was just on his way back to the house, but it sounds like it is official and that he and Lauren are getting a divorce. I know he’s tried very hard to work it out and they expected more from the vacation they just took, but it doesn’t seem possible to work out.

I’ve got to take the position of stepping back, but I couldn’t help but to make a simple comment. Maury had written something in the Facebook about being single and his SIL said something about inappropriateness of that action and she said that it wouldn’t get him out of the doghouse. My comment simply was … “Get out of the doghouse?”

I couldn’t help that one comment. Due to the situation as it stands, it’s not Maury in the dog house. Ok, that’s as far as we’ll go with that. It’s got to be about the kids. My only recommendation when he called was to make sure the girls were ok, which meant telling the MIL what was going on. She’s the one that’s done all the extra kid care and it has to be reassured that no matter what happens between Maury and Lauren that the mother be able to continue helping out with the kids. I don’t think either of them could do it without her. There’s no way to get past that she HAS to know what’s going on. That might not be what all the parties want, but the Judge is eventually going to want to know that they were able to put the girls’ best interest in front of them.

Time will tell.

Ok, so then … staying out of it past that. We took our shower, did the medicine and found the other leather bag. I really like that bag anyway … It’s got just the nicest soft leather touch. We also stopped by to check on Sweetie … he said 10 minutes and I thought 10? It was 6:25 and I was looking for him to have only FIVE minutes. But, then he said … ok, 15 minutes. YEEKS. Sounds like someone stayed up til midnight playing poker! UhHA!

Well, I guess he can have a few more minutes. My baby …

I think he had it rough with things going on in his family too. I asked him last night between one family and the other, how was it we could just be going to bed.

He said well, someone needs to sleep to handle things rationally. Well, maybe he didn’t say quite that, but the intent was there.

Whoops he’s up 8 minutes early!

Missy is up too. I don’t know what she’s looking for … it’s only 6:33 am. There is lotsa time Hehehe.

Ok, back to the little computer? Hmm, we got through the packing stage, right? I think the case is a little too big. It might be heavier than the computer itself.

It seems self-defeating - it’s always so hard to find bags.

Ok, well, I don’t really have anything to say … I want to do a real quick look through for software … hold on.

Ok, that's all got mixed results, but bottom line is that it's again time to be getting to work. We will see how the day progresses. Good luck to all!
