Never really got to the point of concentrating

Good morning, this is me. Hehehe … someone snuck someone’s t-shirt … shhh. Let’s not let anyone know, k? I think it is my way of holding him. I like it that his shirt smells like him.

Hey … ok … ok … that’s enough stop smelling the shirt! Thinking something, something, something here … better let it go … too early in the morning.

Sweetie Pie was out late last night … I know I stayed up til midnight and he wasn’t here then so we figure pretty late. Well, actually … we have no business being up either. It’s about 6 am now, but we told him we’d wake him up because he has a game and another full schedule today. We have to rouse him at 6:45 … I’m thinking that he has no business getting that little sleep. We can go back to bed, but not him.

He figures after he officiates the football game, he’ll stop by to visit his mother and then after that go watch a movie with his older son. I think they are going to do it at his son’s place. We’re thinking its going to be late, because he has a two hour drive back. We’re trying to get him convinced that he can stay overnight. He says, no, no … it’s alright, I’ll be fine. But, we don’t like him out driving late, especially two nights in a row, because he’s not sleeping in-between. I think God did something when he made men. He made them all thinking that they are Superman.

HMPF!

I’d like to go snuggle with him now, but I know he needs those few extra moments sleep, so … you heard me girl … not a smidge before 6:45! That’s right … pet the cat … well, no not like she’s a substitution, but maybe squeeze some of that meowy out of her.

Ok, let’s strike that smidge comment, k? Sweetie Pie got up to use the washroom about 90 minutes ago. And, someone went to hold the space in his bed. Then I though … ok, we’ll just massage him for a half hour, but then he was so warm and delicious that we sorta fell asleep. Sorta like 15 minutes past our designated stayer-uperer time. But, he made up some time and left almost on time. That’s like the casualties of having a romantic partner sharing sleepover space. *Sigh*
We got to warm his pillow while he showered and then we watched him get dressed and take care of a few morning tasks. Then you know what our sneaky bunny did? Right when we were at the door giving him his good-bye smooches, he snuck in … He’s crowding the whole day in so he can spend the next two days with us … and then he said in a lower voice, and umm Bob. He said somewhere in the next whole entire 48 hours he wanted to squeak 4 little itty bitty hours to go fishing with Bob. Whoa … man … that’s one sneaky bunny!

Hmpf! ;)

Well, of course its ok … I’ve been pushing him all week to get in his required amount of fishy time, especially with Bob, because they’ve been TOO competitive lately. We check on that kind of stuff. Have you called your mother, your kids, your buddies, your brother? Ok, ok … still quarreling over that one within ourselves. We know that Sweetie needs no reminders to plug into his life, but then on our side, there is little we can do to worry over him proper. We’ve got to think we’re helping somewhere!

Ahh that be our bunny friend.

Now it is almost 9 am and we’ve been wandering on the Internet again. We’re in one of those lapsidasical moods. Nothing is rushing in on my head yet. We’ve taken our medicine about an hour ago, but feeling a bit dazed by perhaps love and staying up to late. We’re not quite comfortable yet for writing, though we’re thinking that be a good idea about now. Maybe have to change clothes first. Sweeties shirt … probably should be taken off and perhaps a shower taken? We sorta squinted at Baby cakes before he left … he said you will take off my shirt and get a shower in today … umm like ok, yes … sure … hmm? Maybe we should do that now and get it over with?

Then maybe we can put on some nice warm jammas and get a cup of hot coffee. That seems like just the ticket!

Ahh, did we mention really cold? Spose the next thing would be to open the door and curtain, but we promised Sweetie we wouldn’t stand up on chairs between our body shape and leg problems. So, this might be the day. Not that we are opposed to flannel pajamas. Just gotta love em!

As per last paragraph … we are still really having problems with our leg … in back of the knee and now spreading to the calf area up the back of the thigh and into our back. We finally made an appointment with the leg specialist, but we’re thinking that on Tuesday, we might call and set up a MRI through the doctor. She had told us we needed one before, but at that time we weren’t ready for it. It seemed to have been getting better, and our memories of MRI were that it wasn’t a very good experience due to the claustrophobic feelings. I don’t think I’m any worse off than others, but they don’t particularly make the experience enjoyable. I’m not sure if they shrink the machine down to everyone’s fit, or if its just because we’re so big, but our memory of it was that it was extremely tight. Just had to try and relax and it was a good time to dissociate. Hmm, remember … we can do it! Grrr.

Ok, maybe that’s enough of that, but if not feeling better by Tuesday the call needs to be made, k? Dumb leg! Shhh … it’s the only one of two we have, remember? Need to take care of it better, K? Shhh it’ll be ok, patience dear, patience!

*Grumble, grumble*

Shhh…

*Sigh*

Ok, moving on here …

Hmm, we feel we’re just starting out the day … it’s about 9:15 am and we’re just to the start of page 4. That’s not so good. Sweetie said something about coming up with something to do over the couple of almost full days he is here. He reminded me of Labor Day crowds and we had to remind him of how bad it hurt to walk. Soo, I’m not sure if we are going out too far. He said that we should make it some kind of activity that doesn’t center around food and we agreed to that and added that it probably shouldn’t take too much money too. There are going to be the obvious things though like getting laundry and food done, and I should probably start on the weekly housekeeping tasks, though maybe not for awhile. I’d like to get into the writing a bit first. Basically though, it is marked down unofficially as one of my things to do. Ok, you and us both know that … it’s just that we have to recall the rules for each of us. Hmm, if I don’t open some curtains or turn on light it might feel like there is nothing we can see that needs cleaning? Well, it’s a good theory at least.

Umm, I don’t think we’re focusing yet. Do you have any ideas? Oh like come up with something for sure? Well, the idea of a movie has been approached by Sweetie and I think that would be nice in that it hadn’t worked out last week and we’re still holding a movie only one of us has watched. We were a bit far taken in something last night in that we’d ordered some space on the Internet for stuff that we shouldn’t be looking at, but did. I think we’re going to have to cancel it before Sweetie finds out, because in truth … he always finds out cuz we’re lousy secret-keepers.

Ok, ok … nuf of that stuff girls. It’s now 10:18. I think we’re frustrating ourselves to pieces. We think we’re going to come to a good plan on what to do during the next couple of nights. I’m thinking some version of strip poker would be in order … How could we make that more interesting? Let’s see first we need some cards. Can you play poker with just two people? I don’t think either of us want to bother with clothes. Ok, ok … maybe we better not get into that here, but just the same, you should know that we are thinking in that direction. Shh… Ok, ok … let’s not get ourselves over-excited. Hmm, we used to play a game called Tripoli. I wonder what that was all about.

Ok, we’re moving on here. It’s now 1:08 and it seems we’re not getting much typing done. We went on to look at the Tripoli and it seemed ok – it was my father’s only card game. That wasn’t remembered until we saw the board, and then we remembered it was best played by kids and a group of them … at least 4-6 players. Then we thought of backgammon because it was a favored game of one of my ex’s friends and he was really smart. But then I realized I only played the game a little and I wasn’t crazy about it. Then, I thought about learning to play poker better, but I came to the same realization that its really no fun with just two. Any clothes could be striped off with the winning of ANY game! That’s when I thought of cribbage. Well way after that too we though of that we used to play 500 and spades and hearts. 500 was my favorite. But each of those games you need 4 players. I played 500 in and around my mother – sat in as a sub for her games. But, anyway … one of the games I used to play with my grandmother and she her husband, and my mother plays with her husband was Cribbage. I don’t need the husband, but sure Rich could do.

Anyway … we looked around at a lot of really nice cribbage boards and made a decision over the one we would want, but first we need to figure out if Rich could get into the game. I like it because you can really socialize during the game between hands. And then, Rich called  . He had finished his game and was on his way to his mothers. So after a few moments of catching up we asked about the game.

He said he’d played it once or twice but never really learned how to play. We told him that we could teach him … and then we backed that up with we’d read the official rules to update ourselves and beside not knowing about tournament penalties, we did indeed remember the game. I said the board I liked was $50 or $60, but we could probably get one for $10 - $15 … he agreed and said that we could try the cheaper one and if we wanted to later could get the better board. He was thinking Walmart, but we were thinking Toys R Us. Turns out Walmart didn’t have them, but the other did and the exact board I was given as a kid is still being sold and it cost $9.99.

WooHOOO!!!

These are the boards …

The first board is the cheaper of the two, which should seem pretty obvious. The streets are painted on the first and there’s a little whole underneath for the pegs which are plastic and the wood is something cheap like pine. The second is rosewood and the street inlay is brass, plus there is storage inside for the cards and pegs. It’s a box, not a board. Either will do the job, but it would seem obvious I would like the $66 or the $10.

Whoops ... we obsessed into gameland for rest of night ... POGO *sigh*
