A little fishy with your coffee?
Good morning it is me. It’s already about 5 am … we’ve been up about ½ an hour - mostly getting everything in order including the iPod. I’m not sure exactly how we used up that many minutes, but we could easily say there are not enough minutes to use up.Oh here and there’s this thing. If you were going to buy the most expensive stuff on Rich’s list it would cost $4252.86, but there are 4 very expensive items not on the list. He’s sill gotta get his pole kit foot attachments, his outboard propeller, his trolling motor propeller and his locking bar - my estimate that’s going to be about $600. At that point we could then surmise if he got the best of everything he’d be paying about $5000 for all the necessities. There may be more added on, but the truth of the matter is that he won’t go most expensive with everything … it’s his nature to save when he can and there might be sales.
I know there are a few more items to go on the list as to him thinking he doesn’t have enough poles, reels and lures. I also know that he’s thinking of getting the lesser of the most costly sonar because that’s a $3000 item as stands. I think he should get himself a $5000 budget and see what he can do with that. I think he has the money up front, but I think it’s going to cost half his savings and I’m thinking he’s still going to need paying for the week in Canada, the week in Shreveport, the 8 regular bass fishing sessions, and plus whatever other day he can get and as often as possible. I think then it’s not very long then that he is going to blow through that $10,000 I understand he’s saved. God Bless fishy men!
My thought is that with this kind of money invested that he should get the better sonar. The option he was looking at was to save $1000 and get the model half the size. But, I think if he’s going to get one in a life time, he should get the best and handle the cost. But, that’s just me and you know my spending habits.
I think he’s going to need finding himself an association for fishy men like the one Bob belongs to where he can keep his boat in the water or at the club at all times.
I think he’s going to want to sneak out during the week to drop his line in for a couple of hours at a time and that would allow that. Otherwise he’s going to need going out to his mother’s each time and picking up the boat from there. I do remember him saying though that he thinks he’s going to park it out back. I just couldn’t see him backing it up the long drive all the way back to his small corner every time he uses it. And, I’m not sure if that’s a safe thing in the neighborhood, or if the other tenants would appreciate it. It might draw too much attention to the space out back from people you don’t want around your cars, plus at 19 some feet PLUS the hitch, I’m thinking that it’s vulnerable to being hit.
Unfortunately, I think if he’ going to want to belong to a club, that is going to be another couple thousand to join and then membership dues. I’m thinking just to join it’s about 2-3,000 maybe up to 5,000. I’m not sure. They don’t let in just anybody either. I think my some buddy is more than anybody, but you still gotta get an invite.
Man I’m sure thinking he must love this sport. It was such a major thing to go up to being a boat front seater rather than a back seater. Hmm, thinking too he’s got all that gas, plus of course food and lodging, plus keeping his tackle fresh each week. Wow! If you were going to pick an expensive hobby, I think this would be it.
I should also probably consider that if there are 10 scheduled trips already and I think his goal is to get out a minimum of like 28-30 times, then this is going to be a lot of away from home fishing. I would think I would be included maybe about 10 times or a third of the time, but there are a whole lot of other people too. I think he’s going fishing more often, especially if he’s got a place during the week. I could see him working until about 2-3 pm and then taking off until about 7 or 8 pm depending on when he got hungry. I know Bob does this sort of thing.
I don’t know yet if he and Bob would be most often if going together fishing from the same boat or taking two boats out for a little more independence and control over things. That be the ideal situation, but then I’d worry about safety. I do think it would allow them to fish together and talk, or get out on their own if they were rubbing each other the wrong way. It wouldn’t be the best option for saving them money. Two gas tanks are more expensive than one.
We’re really counting on Rich having his computer on board, so when we go fishing we can be writing. That’s our best bet. The other would be to have our camera along.
Hmm, thinking of that … we lost our battery cord. I think I’m going to need getting another battery when we get money. *Sigh* Maybe a $20-30 item at most and maybe less. So I guess next to Rich’s expenses … it will be ok.
There are a few things that we are still working over in our mind. The first is the worry about bathrooms and the next is worry about bugs. I’m not as worried about the temperatures, because I figure if we dress right, we’ll be ok. I’m not so sure, but at the worst case scenario I’d have to bring my bathing suit I guess. Rich talks about taking off fishy time to be going for a swim. I’m not so sure I want to share fishy space with the fishes, but we’d check that out.
I do know that after we go out at a time, we will pre-pack our bag so that besides going to the washroom; we are ready to head out with a few moments notice. I do think we should get 15-30 warning from Rich minimum and usually longer to prepare. I want to be the go-girl where he just whistles, but I’m not sure I could do all that. It has to do with my proximity to a computer. I figure too though that I’ve got the iPod and being able to listen to Anderson Cooper wherever I want is going to go a long way – especially, if we’ve got a computer to plug it in. Yup, yup … that’ll be in our go bag.
Maybe what will happen is that Rich will donate a cubby so I can store some stuff, like a change of clothes or something.
Hmm looking at the cubbies now … I better just try and get reserved the space under my seat. I’d want something where I could at least tuck away the bag I’d pack so it was off the deck. I get the back of the boat and Rich gets the front, did you know that? Rich told me about getting some kind of recliner, but I’m thinking that I should really get something where I can have a stand for the computer. I think I’d gotten this as far as something attached to the inside counsel.

AHA!
This seems like about the kind of thing we need. They’ve got a ton of mounts. I think they cost about $200. They advertise for being very tough. We would want something tough that will like these absorb shocks … you know pounding waves and all? Cool, cool. Just have to attach somehow to the consul and then let it swing over to where we are sitting on one of the passenger seats. I don’t know then if we’d get a special chair if we could make due - just thinking that it’s pretty small on a boat to be adding much furniture.
Ok, that’s enough of that stuff. I can’t believe it, but it’s already 6 am and we’ve only gotten about up to 3 pages. Yeeks! Where is the time going this morning and why’s it going so fast?
Better remember too … I think Dr. Marvin is going to be out of the office today.
Ok, there it is … we found the note he’d sent. It says we’re meeting tomorrow – Friday at 4 pm. Looks like we’ll have to get off work a little early, but on a Friday you know how terrible that might be!
Did I tell you too? We told Sr. that we will be taking off on Tuesday. We didn’t tell her it was for the inauguration ceremonies, but that’ pretty much the deal. We are going to want to be glued to our TVs. BESIDES!!! It turns out that Monday’s a HOLIDAY! No, I couldn’t tell you which one; just know that I’m coming up to a 4 day weekend. I think I’m going to plan for more of these as the year wraps up. I think I have about 15 vacation days … maybe a few less, but right around there. I will need to be using them up before the end of June.
Better get in my shower though now. BBIAM (be back in a minute)
Ok, it’s us. We’re back. Bags are half-way packed. I forgot to do our gym bag yesterday so I am going to need waiting on that until Rich wakes up so I don’t jar him awake. I did pack ½ the bag and lunch, took the shower and medicine. Those are the regular things, right? It’s now about 15 minutes after – 6:15 am. Fishy-face gets 15 more minutes of sleep and we get ALMOST 45 minutes to write, but maybe not so much. I tried looking out the back window and it was all frosted over, so I’m thinking my car window is really going to need being scraped down good.
Yesterday we did a nice Ann. We made sure Rich knew he didn’t have to do our car windows EVERY morning and it was just light fluffy stuff so we were ok with it.
But, then cuz we were waiting for our car to heat up … we did his window too. I think he appreciated that … not a big thing, but the kind of stuff that puts a smile on your face as your headed out first thing.
Hmm, another good ANN!!! We just corrected our typos. That was nice to us for future time considerment. Ok, I didn’t think that word was going to make it, BUT if you press add to dictionary, it looks just fine! Might even be considered a Bushism.
Ok, we should be moving away from our fishy preparations. I am thinking that Rich is going to have someone mount his sonars and such so it might be a good idea to do both of them at about the same time. If push comes to shove … that would be $200 worth of my own money that be worth while.
AHA! Talking about money, we talked to Thom again last night. He’s not so sure, but is thinking he won’t get New Orleans after all. I think they needed someone faster than him being able to get through school. I’m not sure. But, then he said something about going to Japan. He seemed pretty sure of that. He said there was a chance he’d go somewhere on the East coast … forgot where, but chances are better that he’ll be in Japan.
I think he was down because he was worrying about his marriage. He would want his wife to come with him, but at this point, she doesn’t want to go. She didn’t even want to go to New Orleans; I think it take an awfully big budge to get her to Japan. Thom is sensitive as to being like a rejection and he’s fretting it out in his own way.
Other than that we talked over a few things, but it was the main point. We did talk about visiting and such. His impression was that it would take a couple thousand dollars just for the flight, plus there’d be a lot more cost rooms, food, being a tourist and all. Probably be closer to a $5000 trip. We told him that we’d already been making a plan to come down to either Pensacola or New Orleans from the money we hoped to get from taxes. So then we told him we could save it up and use it for a trip eventually to Japan, or maybe better yet get him a flight home, so he could visit more people.
He was thinking that it would be a two-year stint. He said as to connecting to his wife that it is a 9 hour difference in time. So if he got to a phone by 6 am his time, she could be picking it up at about It be about 9 pm her time? Hmm, is that right? I think so. He’d naturally be a day ahead of her. It’s not perfect, but it would work. Just he doesn’t seem to think they’d make it in that way for a couple of years. I’m not sure of the deal where a wife didn’t want to go with her husband, in that she knew he’d be in the Marines and would be stationed somewhere different, but then it’s not our business. They really have to work that out.
Ok, better move on to the next thing. Yeeks! I forgot to wake up super bunny!
Hmm, he’s moving a little slow, but I think he has the general idea. He needed a little patting. Hehehe can’t beat a super bunny!
It’s about 6:37 am now. We’re racing down to the end of the morning.
Yesterday we did good in setting up a new week of CIRCLES. We’ve got them matching colors to different physical contact type connections … like purple for self is hugging self where orange child might be waving. We drilled them on that for awhile, and then we had collected some stencils that represented mostly buildings.
We tried to get them to connect to different places as being connected to the colors. We also emphasized that there were 6 of everything like 6 animals, 6 colors, 6 gestures, etc. It is a different way of patterning their minds from the last time and we’re having a lot of fun with it.
We made a couple of charts. The first one was a list of the 14 tasks that we were going to aim for along with the spaces for their names so we could test them. And, then the second was oh, I know we just made copies of the chart we were getting this week’s information from. We also had them begin to work with the number 1 being personal, 6 being stranger, etc. This is going to be a two week project with this material. We’re in good shape. We still are going to miss next Tuesday, and I think Maria will then lose out on 3 weeks in a row, but I can’t do much for that.
She’s had her time interfered with due to the volunteers over the last two weeks.
Other than setting that up and doing the group, we spent the rest of the time doing Qnotes. We did pretty good actually, though we stayed until about 5:30 pm. My last memory was going down the hall and seeing Holly desperately looking through the desk of one of the trainers. It had come up during the day that I pressed Sr. for getting the names of the two clients that are going to be switched over to me. She should have made her suggestions 4-5 weeks ago when it first came up. I emphasized to Sr. that it been that long and we were getting too close to the deadlines, not for me to make sure I was up to date with whomever she gave me.
Holly told Sr. she’d be ready by the end of the day, but I’m really not sure if that happened. I am pretty sure that if Holly was going to do any Qnotes to catch up, she would have preferred working on the clients she was going to keep.
We did give her a nice surprise in that we got her the Qnotes, we actually did owe her from a client that had been thought missing in action, but had come back yesterday. That at least gives her one client she is caught up with. I felt really good to pass that over, and a little proud to know Holly would be seeing the kind of notes we were writing, which we consider pretty ok. I felt bad though because I’d planned on doing 2 sets of clients a day for the next 3 days so I could finish the Qnotes up to date, but I’d forgotten about her client. That’s why I stayed late was to get 3 clients done instead of two. I’m very proud to have gotten that much done. Another good Ann!
They were also going pretty smooth. I can say I almost enjoyed doing them. I like making the number summary comparisons from month to month. I don’t think they will ever be appreciated by anyone else, but I figure that I’m learning a skill and that is important for some part of my development later down the line.
I’ve still got all those annuals to finish. I’d like to get them done under Sister’s radar, but I’m not sure if I’m that good to hide all that. She’s pretty smart, and we’re pretty flagrantely behind the gun. This is the sort of thing that could get people fired. Beside that and doing a few other clean-up chores, it’s going to be a busy couple of months. We hope more than anything that the State is coming in later than early.
Ok, that’s about it for this morning. We’ll be talking soon.
