Hey ... you know what? We made it back to the Gym!

Good morning. This is me … and we’ve got just a short time this morning. We woke up in the middle of the night and went from Rich’s bed to our chair. We slept then until 5:15 am. That’s pretty good sleeping all told. I did the normal stuff and started the dishwasher. AHA! Dishwasher, I caught you there – that wasn’t normal now was it?

Yesterday seemed to have worked out pretty good. We worked hard at work doing work! WooHOO! I felt pretty good about that there were some interruptions, but not nearly as many as there is going to be today. We have a group coming that I will have to acclimate to the center. I have to remember to dress nice. I think I still have Group 1 to be getting through. I think Sister Florine is still on vacation – she might be getting home at the end of the week. She went to Michigan to visit her family. Another Sister is staying with Sr. Theresa.

I believe that Imelda is watching the group and sometimes she can come in late, so I’ll have to be patient. Sr. is making some changes where Sr. Florine will have the group Monday through Wednesday and then Margarita and Imelda will have a day a piece on Thursdays and Fridays. Sister is looking for another staff, but that hasn’t come about yet. She talked about some of the candidates she was getting, but no one has fit the bill. I do hope for the day I will get to be doing regular Q work when I walk in the door.

Today’s deal with the group is going to take all morning. Sister Theresa is having surgery on her other eye. She will be gone tomorrow too, which might means on that day I will have the group all day long. There’s a chance that Holly will be back by then, but she’s been sick with dental problems, so Sr. might have me do the group all day. I think the shame part is that I’m so close to finishing something on the Qnotes that it all feels like a bit of a distraction. She made a statement that it would work out that Sr. Florine not be working directly quite as much, but then we said somewhat out loud, yeah but the first week and you already have me substituting.

It was a bit frustrating because she also reminded that she was counting on me for doing CARF. I told her at the time just let me first get through the State inspection. She had to back down a little, but then she adds the substituting which takes me away from State inspection and CARF survey. I don’t think she can have it both ways. Also, I’m betting that she’s forgotten she’d already committed some of my time to CIRCLES. I won’t be able to have meetings today OR tomorrow. And, then it’s the first of the month so we’ll not have staff training, but instead will have two meetings on Friday. Yeeks! Why was it that we didn’t get work-work done?

Ok, you … stop complaining. On the brighter part of day I was mentioning I did some good work on Qnotes. Sr. had talked to me several times during the day and the one time she gave me a list of about 5 things to do. But, I had in mind to finish the part of the Qnotes where I’m calculating all the figures. We’ve just now got one more person out of the 20 some and then there are the few scraggly ones from the month of December. Really that is not as bad as doing months and months of them. I still have to put them on the computer, but getting at least this much done has given me the sense of accomplishment. I’m really pleased with how it’s going, but I know too that I have to fix-up some goals for the DSPs.

Plus, I have to work … well it should be today, but I’ll have to work around that group, but the DSPs need the new goal data sheets. I do them for the year and it usually takes me a whole day to do them. It’s about 275 sheets that need to be specialized for each month and each client. The first one of course is the hardest and then after that there is a lot of copying. But, because of the way they are done I have to do individually a master set for the whole year. I don’t know if I’m going to change it much this year. I know I’ll at least get a change of color, but I don’t think I’m going to have enough time to put into design work. I might get a new image if that’s not too hard. I know the DSPs have to look at them for the entire year, so I like to make them at least pleasant to look at. Well, at least as much as that kinda thing can be.

I think I’m going to have to put that project ahead of the last few Qnote calculations, because it’s such a hot priority to get the new material out to the DSPs. I think the group is coming in about 9-10 am. I’ll give them a quick intro, they’ll watch a movie, and then they’ll get a tour before they break up to work in groups with the clients. Sr. thought there were going to be about 14 of them, plus their staff. They are volunteers who have come in from out of state to be working in several places including ours. They have a great time and the clients love working with them. It’s just another change in pace.

That’s about it for the moment. Things are going along fine although we’re short on time. I think I’m going to jump in the shower so that we have time on the other end. We did want to be saying something about going to the gym finally yesterday.

But, we’ll save that for after the BRB.

Good-good … we’re back and we stopped to check on the scale we’re at 252.0, so I think we came down a little. We have to give a few seconds too to syncing the iPod. I forgot to plug it in last night. I think it should be ok. We need to be doing some downloading the slow way, but we’ve got about a half an hour, so I think it’s going to be ok. We’re going to need waking up Rich in a few moments. So far so good, but we’re not getting anywhere to in-depth and you know that’s where we like to go.

Ok, and then think … what’s next? Maybe we should wake up Rich and then we’ll have a little bit of a window to think through something.

Hehehe … we got in a couple minutes of snuggly time. Sometimes though when we start him off with massages, then he’s not so apt to want to wake up. So … we gave him a few minutes and then we figured we better walk away, or he’d never get up.

Ok, there is one more thing I almost forgot about. As mentioned before we made it finally to the gym yesterday. We felt a little cautious, but in general things worked out very well, without too much being overwhelmed.

We started by going to the locker room. We tried to be calm. We noticed that there were spaces left as we walked through the gym, so that gave us a few peaceful thoughts … at least we were not going to have to wait for a machine. By the end of our time there though there were fewer open machines. So, we are going to need being careful to leave work exactly at 4 pm.

The locker room turned out to be ok. We still haven’t taken our combination off the back of our lock, but I think that it’s a safe deal until I really know that we’re going to be able to remember the combination. We took our time in making sure everything was going according to plan. We had forgotten our gym pants so we had called Rich to bring them in since he was coming to the center. That worked out.

We changed at work, and only had to take off the pants when we got to the gym. We went through a procedure of taking out things like the water and towel and getting the iPod set-up. And then, we made it out to the gym floor.

We found a comfortable familiar treadmill, but were unsure of our goals as to time.

We eventually decided that we were going to go 1 mile or 30 minutes, whichever felt ok by the time we’d get there. We ended up with the 30 minutes and the distance came out to be 1.08 miles. That was very satisfactory and we weren’t over-exhausted. We’d been listening to the book for goals, but felt distracted by watching things that were going on around us and trying not to pay too much attention to the numbers on the machine.

After we did the tread mill, we went over to the bike. We decided that our goal would be 15 minutes. The best thing about that deal was that we got engrossed in taking care of a few things on the iPod, and then with the iPod checking our email.

The time swam fast without ever feeling overly overwhelmed. That was a very nice thing to have happened.

We decided as we were working that we’d try to do the treadmill every day, and then we’d do the bike on one day, and then we’d do the weights the next. I don’t know if that will stick and we’ve got to take into consideration the swimming. I would like to get back to that and it didn’t seem overly crowded yesterday. There is a big window to the swimming pool from the gym. We’ll have to check all that out, but for now … we’re just glad that we got through things as well as we did.

We had packed the gym bag yesterday when we were packing in general, but last night when we got home, we packed the gym bag right away. I felt good about that. There are more feelings of wanting to be there than not. Cool-cool!

Ahh sleepy bear finally made it out to the living room with coffee. It’s now 6:45 pm.

I don’t think too much happened after we came home last night. We got in about 6 pm and Rich didn’t get in until about 8:30 pm. We ate dinner – Rich had made noodles and ham, and then without too much ado we fell promptly to bed. We did wake up when he came in and we watched a couple of West Wings. And, then we had our fudgsicles and then crept into bed with smooch face. I fell asleep before he finished reading, and when he finished we got next to him and under covers as we dream in our dreams.

He’s soooo cool!

Hmm, Rich got on the scale too. So far we’re at a combined 5 pounds loss. That’s pretty cool. We’re working at it. We’re now at a combined 544.6. Again the goal is a combined 352. So we’ve got 192.6 lbs to go yet making it a loss of about 2.6%. Well, you gotta start somewhere!

Ok, better get going. We want to post before we get dressed and we’ve been waiting downstairs to get the car warmed up for 5 minutes. Let’s hope that it’s going to be a good day, hmm?
