Presidential Inauguration 2009!

Good morning … this is me. We’re back again … it is the next day and we’re back to our watching of the inauguration. It’s only a few hours away. It’s about 7:15 am now and I think it’s going to be at 11 am central time. We’ve been up for a while, but it’s been a little mixed up as to what we’re doing. I think we got up about an hour ago. Rich was already in his shower and since then we’ve “helped” him get dressed. Like right – helped Hehehe. We did get in some talking, but not much … maybe just enough to find out that he’s going to be home about 7 pm tonight. So, he’s left us to our own devises again! What’s up with that?! Silly boy!

We already got our lecture for not being obsessive. That was no fun … I told him that a gazillion Americans were going to be doing what we are doing today in watching Barack Obama’s Day. He says that we cross the border if we don’t leave the room, or shower, or order our medicine, or fix our phone. So, we did some of that just to prove we’re good, but we really did want to get back to doing what we’re doing now. Pswhoo … time is a wasting!

CNN keeps trying to interview newscasters down in the crowd, but the crowds are pretty excitable.

Ok, here we are … we’re figuring out our technology for the day.

Ok, we might be getting a little over-excited. Just want to catch our little part of this historic day. This all is making us so happy. This is the day we get to change the world.

We have a little competition going between the coverage of CNN on TV and the coverage from CNN on the computer. No reason not to have both happening. I can’t figure out Rich’s lack of excitement for the day’s events. How could anybody be doing business on a day like this? Yeeks!

Ok, lost some time there. We went through our mail. We haven’t done that for several days. I like the deal where we can watch Facebook at the same time as we’re listening to CNN.com Live on the computer. Hmm, how are we ever going to concentrate?

Wow! Time is going fast … this is the Barack and Michelle leaving the church.

Ok, we’re not going to be obsessed? Hmm What’s that?

This is just so grand. These are the kids from the front of the capital. They’ve sung a few songs like America.

This last slew of pictures went by pretty fast. It was of the President Elect going from the church, driving in the motorcade and then everyone getting out of the cars and the President Elect and Michelle meeting President and Mrs. Bush. It’s all pretty remarkable. We just left a note in the Facebook. I think now that the President and Obama spend an hour having a coffee before they head over to the capital. I know for sure that Biden will become Vice-President first and then Obama. Cheney got hurt – back strain yesterday packing and so he’s going to be here in a wheel chair. Wow! The Vice-President and you have to pack for yourself?

That’s just wrong. Maybe he was cleaning out though some sneaky files. That’s no good.

Hmm, they are saying that more than a million people who signed up to communicate on Facebook. They say 2000 people update their status every minute. Wow they are showing how they are charting words used somewhat like we are and they can tell where those updates are coming from state-wise. They call it joining in the conversation. They’ve got tabs to include your message to everyone at once and then another one for friends. I don’t think we have many friends watching like us.

Darn that Alex is a hard worker!

*Giggle* We made it over to our Profile page on Facebook. I hadn’t realized Maury had responded back as to the show on the lady with four personalities. I think we told you about it the other day. This is what Maury had to say. I’m glad to hear from him.

This caption may be a little hard to read, but basically Maury didn’t think the depiction was very good because of the over-dramatization, but then he jokes maybe it’s just because we’re a really boring multiple. Hehehe … yah it’s probably that.

If there is no other reason in the world to get our story out it would be to say … hey this is almost a normal thing!

This is about how we are looking at our screen right now. We’re trying to figure out how to get the most out of it. We’re sure going to have a lot of posting of pictures at the end of the day, but this is such an important day to have.

Ahh, they are letting in the house of Representatives now.

Lot’s of Governors and Senators and such. Maybe we’ll get some kind of group picture after they are all seated. Right now it just looks like a crowd - a crowd of Lawmakers. They are saying that Obama is just ending his session with President Bush and then will be back to the motorcade. It’s now 9:30. The Inauguration speech should be at 2 pm central time. They showed a video on a school in Chicago … they say that before the kids get out, they will all speak a foreign language. The school had a good idea to give them clipboards and special paper to record their thoughts of what was happening as it happened. That’s pretty like what we are doing now with the computer.

Ahh, this is a good picture it is of Senator Ted Kennedy. He’s looking good. It’s a pretty good chance it might be his last inauguration.

The band is playing … crowds are waving … people are ecstatic!

Everything is now just under an hour from him becoming President. It can’t get any more exciting … it’s almost hard to breath!

I keep flipping from the TV to the computer … TV gets the images first and then the computer lags behind it. It seems like a long drive.

Shoot, we got the ladies, but we missed the guys. There’s so many remarkable shots to be getting.

The Obama’s are going to the VIP Senate dining room to relax a bit. Things are going to happen pretty soon. It’s 10:05 am central time so … in less than an hour he’s going to be the REAL President!!! I think they’ve got about 20 of those jumbotrons so that more people can see what’s going on. We’ll try to get a picture of the Marine band playing Hail to the Chief. I think Aretha Franklin is going to sing the My Country Tis of Thee. Not sure if that’s the song, just that she’ll sing it right before they have Obama place his hand on the Bible.

Now the Facebook is 200,000 on Facebook, 4 million people signed up on Obama’s site and now 3000 per minute posting

The ceremony is going to start in about 10 minutes at 11:30 am.

I think the next picture will be of the Bush girls and the one’s husband.

Now they are playing Hail to the Chief for the last time for President Bush

Oh man … next Biden will be announced and then right in back of him is coming the man! I’m so overwhelmed in joy.

Now the invocation. Feinstein talked about justice making this day possible.

We are going to listen to a quartet, but they are saying because it is now 2 minutes after noon that Barack Obama is officially President. My first thought? Struggle to come up with just one. Maybe just that Thank God, thank God ... we’re here at last!

Everyone is being asked to stand.

Barack is smiling. Whoop he’s smiling … the guy gave him too many words to remember. WooHOO!!! WooHOO! It’s official … he’s in he’s in!!! For the record I cried at this moment of time. Such a feeling of relief beyond all odds. Then they played Hail to the Chief and it was Barack.

They are yelling OBAMA!!!

I can only pick up small words at a time. Obama is speaking in front of me and in back. I know that when I am calmer, I will listen to everything once again. We’re still crying … it’s just so phenomenal. I believe in President Obama so thoroughly. We need him as a country so desperately. He says, we are ready to lead once more! I don’t know

Then came the Star Spangled Banner

Pshwoo. Ok, we’re back … everything is officially over except all the official stuff that is going to go on next. CNN is waiting for Bush to get in the Helicopter which will send him bad to Texas. God speed Mr. Bush.

They say that all their stuff is packed up and then after Barack sees Bush out, he will go to a special luncheon.

Ok, Pswhoo. I think that’s enough pictures? I like the one of Bush’s helicopter fading into the background. It’s a whole new world! I think I’m going to work on now getting everything transposed over to the blog … it’s going to take a long time to get it all in. Maybe I should count how many pictures? Yeeks! Oh Lordy … 78 pictures. What am I going to do here? It would be nice to get a page of pictures at a time, but I don’t know if I can squeeze them in and still be seen. I’m up to
page 12

Hey Vickie!!! This one’s for you!
