Just a Little Number Crunching

Good morning! This is me and we’re officially on a day off. WooHOO!! It’s already 10:00 am and we’ve been up for a bit, but messing around. So, we figured we probably should get back to doing some kind of entry to catch things up a bit. We didn’t get a chance to write yesterday, because we were so engrossed in a project that we’ll most likely be getting back into in not so long.

Basically, you might have seen some of the results in a couple of entries ago where we had put out a couple of examples of the tag clouds. I’m really pretty happy about all that. We’ve done now a year’s worth of data. We went back through the AMW blog month by month for the year of 2008. It’s a really cool process where all you have to do is put up the months, and then save the address and drop it in the program and then set up a couple of contingency’s like how many words you want mined and that you want the number of hits to go along side the words. If you go back over those last few entries you’ll get a general idea of what we’re talking about.

The next part was to do the statistical parts. There was quite a bit of trial and error with this, but I’m going to try summarizing what all happened with that.

Don’t feel bad if you don’t necessarily understand it, but in general this is the point we had gotten. I’ll put a little graphic here so you get a better general idea of how it all works.

Again, if you want a better look, go ahead and click on the link.

Ok, just loaded you up with numbers … let’s go back and take a look at this, ok? We're going to post this, and then look at it in the links to the bigger pictures, and then we'll try in the new entry to explain it a bit. Permission to be confused granted. Hehehe
