TGIF!!!

Good morning. Or, at least good afternoon. It’s about 15 minutes to the closing bell. I’m not sure if I’m going to want to go exactly on time or sit around and relax for a bit. I’ve piled up the work that I’m going to take home with me. I did one of the six Qnotes I need to do, so there will be 5 more that I will try to finish over the weekend. Rich is going to be gone tomorrow afternoon and evening, and he’s going to be out Sunday afternoon into evening. So, might as well get something done. Right?

Just like no more now. We made 7 out of the 8 meetings scheduled for this week. I think that’s pretty good. I look at Rich’s schedule and I want to shudder … no- no take that away! Meetings HMPF!

The client that Candice expected Monday showed up at the door at 10 am. Since CSO wasn’t expected there was no reason to hold off the meeting – especially since it had been all prepared on that day. The DSP wasn’t there, but there was so much information from the Q that it was sufficient. I’m afraid Candice was like struck by the truck’s light. I’d watch her, then I started to hear her tumble, so I would say something just long enough to hope she’d gotten her grip again. I can’t say it was the best meeting, but it was ok. The caregiver was 78 years old and so the information flow is a little different … I think she was surprised by all the information. I think the both of us – Candice and us were a little startled by her appearing. Usually right before a staffing you try to read through your notes, but there wasn’t time for it this time. I went ahead to give Candice a few minutes to pull together. Maria was rudely pushing to get the meeting started. In all actuality she started the meeting herself. Candice wasn’t in the room. I didn’t want to put out the agency brakes, because I didn’t want to leave Maria hanging.

Funny, we had just come from a CIRCLES meeting with the Leadership group – we were
explaining to them what it meant to leave the person hanging. We showed them an example. I think they got it. Hehehe I took the strongest client, because I knew she could handle it, but they followed it along. We were still working on neighborhoods and acquaintances and were showing them how to have introduction conversations with each other as knowing each other – pretty much small talk stuff.

Like when you meet someone you barely know at the grocery store. After this week,
I’m thinking its an art form. We really got on one of the girls – teasing – but, she was leaving her partner in the role plays hanging and we got down on another – this time a male. He was like being asked to respond to an emergency banging at the door because his neighbors house was on fire. So the neighbor (me) was yelling … Let me in. My house is on fire and I need to use the phone. He was like, “What?” “What did you say?” ARRRRRRRRGGGH I pretty much say that right out loud. We told him if there was ever a time to pay attention it was this.

I can’t say they were real interested in the map. I think they were looking around to see what their staff was doing in the hall. She was being very boisterous. But, sigh … the time ticks – it is time to hand in the pencils and then that is it.

Ok, I made up my mind … Think we’re heading out of here … I really don’t want to lock up and its getting dark. Maybe later! TFIF!!!!
