Following along with the morning's news

Good morning. This is me. How are you? Oh ... the kitty litter door? Ok, well we'll shut it ... thanks.

Pshwoo. Hey that is under control! ANYWAY...

Just off the cuff ... I would like to note that this is the day of Marvin... Hehe ok, maybe we could more simply say ... we're seeing Dr. Marvin today. But, I thought Day of MARVIN ... was more profound as speaks the day.

Hmm, well, maybe we're not going to gain much ground here. We're as you know since getting the laptop at home been watching CNN as we start our morning. I have to admit they keep grabbing back my attention. Last night was of course the last of the Presidential Debates. We listened to about 4/5's the debate, but we lost it at the end. Dropped right off the sleep-meter, so we're doing a little bit of catching up now.

It seems like our guy Obama ... did better on the debate. I was disappointed to see the key points made were the ones I'd already seen. I'd hoped they'd come a little further, but seems like I had already the gist of it.

It's 5:40 am now so we have a little more time, but not much. When they do that nifty computer screen with the United States and they are playing with the red and blue states ... they are hedging now that Obama has 277 of the 270 votes needed to win the candicacy. McCain is like 170 right now. So it would mean that if everyone voted as things seem to be heading that our guy is in ... Is he your guy too, or am I frustrating you to pieces?

I love the big screens that CNN uses. They seem to come out of nowhere and they are in various sizes to multiple uses. I like when it takes like 5-6 seconds to walk from one end of the computer screen to another.

Ahh they have a teenage voter that put together a video made after the debate. I hope he gets his point across which is to just vote. They had another clip of the now famous "Joe the Plummer." He seems to be a good guy. I think they are using him to get the attention of of Sarah Palin's Joe the six-pack. She's blah.

Oh damm they are not going to show his piece for 2-3 more hours. But the kid interviewed well ... he put together a site where people can leave 2 minute videos on their first experience of "Virgin Voting." He's going to judge the videos and give a $500 card at the Apple store. Yep, you know it ... That sounds like iPodvill!
Ok, you can see here we're not getting very far ... but if we're getting something down ... we're excited that we are at least thinking about something though its the same politics that we seemed obsessed on. Most days though we can go to work and not over focus like keeping on CNN on the videos. Well some of the time.

Giggle they just did a bit on Joe the plumber again. It's pretty ridiculous which was to be the point. They counted and Joe the Plumber was mentioned 24 times in the Presidential debate. The guy must have about passed out last night from all the new found attention. Like we said he seemed to be a pretty good guy ... I hope he CAN capitalize on the new found publicity. How perfect!

Just think after today and tomorrow we'll be at National headquarters! WooHOO!!!

Rich seems to be a little more settled with it. He's going to be out of town with son all weekend though so I'm getting all my warning messages, like don't get stuck without transportation and not to be out after dark, and not to go dancing on tables. Ok, like I only did that once! And, it was a long time ago. And, it was a STAGE not a table ... so see that's way different. It always strikes me what Rich remembers. HMPF!

Rich called yesterday and he asked if I would like to go with him to a certain city in Missouri. I forget which one, but I think it starts with BR. He's not telling me what's going on, but he's making some arrangements so we're pretty excited. The only bad part is that he's doing it the weekend before the election so I might be able to volunteer 2 weekends, but not 3 ... I don't know why things worked out that way, but it might have to do with being between his sports seasons so I'm trying not to make a big deal of it. I will ask while I'm at Obama Headquarters, if they will need volunteers after Obama is elected. I don't know if getting elected is the only job of headquarters. It would seem like they should utilize those people more.

I'll let you know when I switch over jobs to being a real Obama flunkie.

I did tell Sr. Theresa yesterday that if something happens to St. Rose that I was going here ... and we pointed to a picture of their place in Lake Geneva - St. Joseph. It's up near Elgin and as you know we're still building our hopes in that direction. I'm thinking that maybe we could wait it out long enough and the housing there will drop in cost. I think they are still holding up those big prices, but they are coming up with plans to sell buildings like discounts on options. That would keep the value of the housing up while getting people to nibble on the bait.

Rich and I talked a few moments after getting back from the bank about houses. He'd spotted one in the neighborhood that was one floor and had #THREE garages. Yup yup ... he's still thinking about that boat. He couldn't find it though in the few seconds he had on the way home.

We had stopped at his bank. That was a big part of the day. We got a call from the regional manager of TCF banks and she seemed to be a really nice person. She apologized several times over about the mannerisms of the banker, and tried to convince me so that she not lose our business. I really felt I had a big head as to ... someone wanting my business. She had talked to the manager and so that was fair enough, and it didn't seem our stories crossed, but in the long run I went with the new bank. Rich was already as persuasive as he could be ... I think the turning card was when I asked Sr. Florine after some loose chatter and she said, take a risk and try something new ... Thought ok, that'll be it then.

I don't think my actual impression though we can't go into it too much now because it's already after 6, but I don't think the actual impression after walking in the new bank was disappointing. I'd forgotten the nature of pride in one's bank. We used to have banks that were more stately, and that part had a real good impression on me. Rich has been with this bank for like 20 years and he holds to it strongly.

I guess his mother introduced him to it and even though his son works at a different bank, Rich is not willing to change. He likes his bank. It was Rich-like - not exuberant, but of good quality ... I liked that. I could see why he enjoys walking into the bank and he seems to feel real comfortable with talking to their big guys.

Ok, then too ... everybody seemed to have candy on their desks. Well ok, that works too. Oops better get in the shower.

Hmm, not much time left ... just 9 minutes. We slept back in bed with Rich for about 10 minutes after our shower and getting ready. Yeeks now it's that much later. We were just nibblin on Rich. Oh man ... it's like that you know!

We were talking about clothes. We're having a hard time finding stuff that we're not swimming in. I found an old skirt that works, though is kinda big too, but then just a second ago, Rich said that he's going to give me some money for over the weekend to go to Katherines and get something new. It had taken me about 15 minutes to get dressed today going through clothes trying to find something that works.

Hehehe Rich says ... I hope your not complaining about loosing too much weight?

NAW. Not me. This morning we're holding our low weight at 249. We're working it ... Just takes time. AND, we gotta get more time in at the gym. RIGHT!!!
