Hmm, maybe we should make this a working day
Good afternoon … well we’re here, but I’m not sure for how long. We might make a decision to work on work stuff after hunny bunny finishes lunch and switching around clothes down stairs. He’s going to be on his computer and we’re thinking we’d like to be doing work along side of him. Kind of wish to use the big living room coffee table, because I’m going to need spreading out, but that would mean not sitting at the right angle or having to sit on the floor, which might be ok for some of it, but not for as long as I need. Plus, I might have to get up and down to use the computer. That would be inconvenient, because I’m not so nimble.Maybe It would be better if I just cleaned off the desk and improvised from here.
But, first there’s a couple cool things that happened … first is that Rich got home about midnight. We’d been reading and dozed off for a little bit, but pretty much we were too excited to stay down. We met him coming up the drive from the balcony and we had his drink waiting for him. He hadn’t asked for a drink, but I figure it was a long trip.
So, we sat out on the balcony and talked for a long time. Well, actually he did most the talking, but we were listening enraptured. GOOD FISHYMAN! He had a lot of stories to tell. I’m too wound up to go into it now, but maybe over the next couple days things will come out. We of course had to take him into the bedroom, and we had our way with him again this morning. Ok, so that’s a little private, but when I get old and come back to read about my life, I want to have a good solid memory that there was a lot of hanky pankying. *Sigh*
Ok, I know, I know … let’s move it a long. He’s going to keep part of his beard for another week. Because next weekend he’s going out fishing again for a 4 day trip. Hopefully, then he’ll stay put for 3-4 weeks, unless he goes out with Bob or gets me to go somewhere with him. Oh sure torture me! Hehehe I like going with him on his fishing ventures. It would be nice to try being in a boat to see how I like or can manage that, but I’m not sure where he stands on that one. I might be too big for a boat yet – Especially getting in and out. I KNOW I wouldn’t stand up in a boat, but then other things would need to be negotiated like BATHROOMS!!! YEEKS!
Well, let’s get through this weekend first anyway.
Ahh, we were just talking again … and we’ve sat through the one-sided long conversations. He talked a lot about fishing to his brother, but the son’s call was mainly some housecleaning details, trying to get together tomorrow, and Chris breaking the news to his father he has another tattoo. Hehehe – poor Rich … no power to say no after the kid gone and done grown-up. Well not all the way … he’s still living under Rich’s roof, but most the way. I’m not sure if I mentioned that too, but his son had been going to get married, and then the wedding got called off and he broke up with his girl, but now they are seeing each other again. I’m not sure how the marriage card is going to play out.
It also sounds like Rich is going to go the weekend after the fishing trip to see his son Jon. It sounded like he must have gotten another place, because they were talking about helping him out with a move. That’s a nice thing. Rich is going back down for the laundry again. I think this time we’re going to have to fold white clothes. Eh, I’m ready for it. He’s saying that we should be doing something … and we’re not thrilled to death with that, because we’ve got other things on our mind, but Rich is the type that likes to have “events.” Yah … you know me … I’m a computer potato. Sure been liking that couch though lately. We’ve got a really nice part under a light where my feet are on this chaise thing and I usually settle in to reading with a cat at each elbow. They love it when we sit on the couch with them.
Really worrying about that book I’ve got to do for work … oh one thing though first. Maury stopped by just a little bit ago for like a little over a half hour.
He had some time to kill at work. He had gotten his new van today and, then after lunch he was going to get it all “tooled-out.” I think FINALLY he’s going to be on his own Monday. I think he’s looking forward to that … he’s thinking he doesn’t know it all yet, but until you put yourself through the paces, it’s hard to learn.
Comcast has people the tech’s call who can answer their questions. So all in all It’s a pretty good deal. Maury says he almost got one of the new trucks, but at the last minute somebody quit, so a manager said why don’t you take HIS van. Poor Maury, it would have meant an update of about 9 years. Better luck next time.
I liked talking to him, but he was a little formal … had to draw things out of him.
I’m not sure, but he might still be frustrated with me on the baptism. I didn’t go AND I didn’t pay for a gift. Not sure why I’m being so yuck about that. But, were going to hope it just goes away. Too, he was out pretty late going to the 4th of July up by Loran’s sister’s place. They went to a town or county fair and he got to compete at catching eggs that were being dropped eventually about 3 stories high.
He beat out most people … he took 3rd out of about 80 who tried. He says he won a $10 bill. WooHOO Go Maury. I think Maury just likes to compete.
Oh good another 45 minutes before we have to fold clothes … I’ve got it made. He’s still putzing around the place. God Bless him. We missed a good putterer. Hadn’t even occurred to me we needed to wash clothes. Ptooey!
Ok, so now then is the part where we have to be working on the new book. I think the first problem is going to be I want a new more reasonable folder. The one that they have now is like one of those 3”-4” binder that is heavy and complicated to carry because things are falling out of it. YUCK … I think we’re going to take it down to its basic elements. Maybe I’ll let them have one of my white folders, and we’ll just use the white one for general old papers. Mine’s only a one inch … so the trick will be to really bring it down. I really think we need efficient.
Neither Sr. or I like to carry STUFF! Hmm, why don’t we slide this through one step at a time. First let’s clean off this desk!
