On the run...
Good morning … just a little bit now … today is Wednesday, December 13, 2006 @ 6:17 am and we’ll have to be going to a meeting out in Elgin this morning. I think we’ll get by leaving by about 7:30, but I’m not sure … maybe my sweetie will sign on and say before. Thinking it would be a good idea to get a shower in earlier, but we’re not up to it yet. We had a late start this morning, which was not to the kitties liking. Chief kept at it though until we got up … First there was the back of the chair, but he finally got tired of us attempting to swat him with our stuffed dog, so he took safer grounds behind the other couch where he obnoxiously chewed on my shoe laces. I think its pretty uncanny that they could figure out stuff that I don’t like A LOT to get me up and out of bed where I can take care of them. HMPF!Now chief is cradled in my arms as if to say … see? That wasn’t so bad after all, right? Double HMPF! I have to admit they were deserving. We’ve run out of dry cat food … so they don’t have anything to tide them over between wet. Chief worked very hard to get my attention yesterday as well. I couldn’t figure out at first why he kept coming back to chew on my rubber bands by the computer. We usually only get wet once a day, but twice a day is necessary without the other. Poor cats … probably have nightmares trying to figure out how they are going to manipulate me next. I don’t though, maybe its fun for them? Hmm?
The meeting today will be interesting after we go to it, but its always somewhat dry thinking about it. Hmm, now that the kitty is all settled … shoot … he’s feeling pretty warm and fuzzy next to our chest. But, still there is that matter about the shower. Drat. Maybe I better get that done. Maybe just one more sip of coffee…
Ok, good good we’re back. It’s now almost 7 am. This is about the time our friend gets up … though we know we had quite a late night with him last night. We ended up working together. He had to cook a turkey for work, so he brought it here and started, but he could only get a frozen one. He had to go about 15 minutes after I got back … so we had a very quick sandwich and it was agreed that of all things I would help cook the turkey. He had the bird thawing under hot water and he had the soup water on and the oven all set. I had to get the bags from inside the turkey out and over to the soup and then put seasoning (this is a secret) on the bird and place it in the oven with the cover on. We were in a very strong personality when we took on the chore and we had our timer set each 10 minutes to check the bird. He umm called twice from his game to make sure all was well. When he got back we showed him the timer that said the bird was inside the oven for 2 hours and 22 minutes and he checked it and sure enough … it was just about right. So then we assisted him in the kitchen with the bones that were ummm needing extra cleaning. Heheheh. Good us. Then we got some turkey noodle soup with him AND about 20-30 minutes back rub before he had to go home. His legs were tired and needed extra attention. He had after all done a lot of work! Good friend!
So here it is and we have to decide … maybe it is better that we go early … just to get a better seat and parking. Ok, I think so. What do we have to do next?
