Ok, way off the deep end here...

Good morning … good morning. It’s us again … We’re sorry for not posting since Monday. It’s like we woke up and we’re very aware that we’d been gone for sometime without knowing exactly what happened. I know now that part of the trouble has been that we’ve been going to bed later, and then we wake up later, and there is no time for coffee, then we’ve been cheating for lunch getting BK chicken sandwiches, then we feel groggy and crabby and there is no walking getting done … Pshwoo. Did that just sound like a confession?

Somehow we’re trying to break all that this morning. After our first cup of coffee and encouragement from the ladies over at the exercise blog, we’re getting back on the wagon. We did our treadmill for 15 minutes this morning, looked up how much calories, fat, and salt are in those stupid sandwiches and we are back to blogging. Can’t say I’m going to turn perfect over night, but it makes a lot more sense to be trying on a day to day basis and sometimes moment to moment.

I’m not sure all that has happened this week. I do know that Tuesday we got the PDA and Wednesday we got the extra screen. The PDA has taken some time to figure out and the screen is still down in the car. We’re hoping our friend will come by this morning and help us get it up. We’re still thinking we are going to somehow need to get a video card, but are unsure yet exactly how that’s going to happen. I guess we’re hoping for someone to just tell us what to do. I’m thinking that the Best Buy people will know, but then they still might tell us, we’re going to have to open the back of the computer and that is scaring us to pieces. Maybe one of the things we should do pretty soon is clear off our table as we’d projected the other morning. No not this very moment, but sooner than later. I’m thinking that if our friend came by it would be closer to 6-8 am. And, it’s only 4 am right now.

We’re a little worried about our present monitor in that it seems to be making some popping or crackling noises. Nothing major, but I think it’s gotten worse over the last couple of days. It’s something I could live with, but then we think … didn’t we get this warranteed? Shoot, that seems like it would be a real hard thing to figure out. What would happen if someone wanted me to ship it back in a box?? It be easier now to do without with the other screen coming in, but that kind of hassle is way past my tolerance level. I guess the first thing though would be to call someone. Let’s see it’s a Dell monitor … computer is about one year old. We had had problems with the monitor at work, so pretty sure we got the coverage. Oh that’s right … that was Gateway, but they sent out a new monitor and had us send the old one back in the new one’s box. I suppose we could do something like that … just have to get it to work. We know the UPS guy stops by there all the time. Ok, ok … we’re figurin here. Let’s see what there service department is like. Hold on.

Ok, we were very brave. We went to their support department. The neat, neat thing was that it did a check on my computer and it came up with a service code and message saying that it had 1096 days of service on my contract … YAYYYY!!!! Ok, we followed through … they sent us an email … we checked a few things and emailed them back the response. I must have gotten a 5 year warranty … good me!!! I guess we weren’t going to mess with not having a service.

Ok, we turned back on John Denver. We haven’t listened to him all week. And, the problem doesn’t come through on the headset.

Hmm, they are right on top of things. Got a second email saying that they got us covered and will get back to me in 3-5 hours. Works for me. AHA! Works for V. too! He’s sitting over there being absorbed in something this morning. Not sure what … You gotta watch that guy … he can be sneaky. Then before you know it he’s saying something like … ok, going to take a nap! AHA! You can see obvious problems there … he’s sluffin!

I think that we’re starting to scare V. We are moving toward a direction where we can see and talk to him. Actually, we should open up the invitation. I am taking the next step forward. This week we ordered a phone. We decided we want to try talking to people again. It’s a phone service through the cable company. I think they said it was going to be digital. They said that for $37.00 I can have a house phone and that I can talk anytime, anywhere, as long as I want for no additional fee. That seemed like a pretty good idea to us. So, we bought a new phone that should come about next week hopefully by Wednesday, because that is when the phone is going to get her. We got this one …

Hmm, the Dell guys are fast … just got an email from Arif … You think they have Indian reps too? They gave me a couple of tests to specify that the problem is the speakers and not the monitor. This is going forward. Sent him back a note saying don’t know what kind of speakers we have to check the next set of diagnosis. AND, he is a damn fool if he thinks we’re going to open the cover to the processor … Just doesn’t work that way around here!

I think we better have breakfast … hold on … starting to get nervous. Ok, that’s better nothing better than cinnamon raison granola. Our sweetie made a mistake and got regular 2% milk. We’re not over to that gallon, but figure we’re almost out of cereal … He’s a good guy though … will fix it right?

Hmm, what else has been happening?

We went to that meeting with the clients … so they can learn to be their own advocates. It was great! Me and M. took 6 people and there were people from a couple other agencies. Not a stellar performance for as many agencies should or could have come … but, this time was better than the last where we were the only agency to show up. They had a nifty exercise too. They gave all the clients sheets with initials representing all the titles that were used by all the agencies. Then they gave staff like me (QMRP) colored dots. Then the clients had to get up and walk around gathering as many dots on their sheet as possible. It was great … a whole lot of mixing and mingling. And, when the person got to a new person then the person had to tell them what people with their initials did. Good dialogue building stuff, and you can be sure we took clients who could get up and speak for themselves. Was a little dismayed though when one of the clients from another agency hit on one of our female clients. Hmpf! The clients got a lot of it and felt very involved. They gave prizes to the people with the most dots. Two of our clients won rewards (little hand game) because they had 18 or 22 dots. YAYYYY!

In the process we talked to the guy that was the head of the meetings. He asked us about our friend, then referred to us a couple of times during the meeting. Apparently, his workshop which has a couple of hundred people doesn’t have any work and the clients we’re complaining when there was no work there was nothing to do and people were getting into fights because they weren’t well supervised. At least that’s our take on it. We put him in contact with our friend. Hehehe … We KNOW our friend has gotten work for other workshops and we know he gets paid extra for doing this. YAYYY maybe more CHINESE! The consequence seems to be that our friend has invited the president guy of this meeting over to our building. He was very impressed with knowing that we have other things to do even beside workshop. I think it is today he is coming over to scope out our place. Our friend invited us … well, actually he volunteered us to host the meeting. He just BETTER be there! While our friend runs the workshop, he doesn’t know much about the program. That part is on us. Our friend says that we’ve got about an hour to talk, then he is going to take the guy out and razzle dazzle him with lunch. I didn’t hear that we get to go out though  shoot!

We’ve been helping sister a little this week with front end stuff. We’re now taking 45 minutes minimum up front watching the phones and doors and such. AND, last week she slipped out of the building with the other Q for 3 hours, which meant client lunches and front end AND word has it that she is doing the same next week … I don’t know what the other Q is doing, but Sister will be visiting the other Sisters. Shoot! This is like not getta lotta work done stuff. BUT, it makes us feel pretty efficient. No matter what she’s given us between that and assistance with the dinner dance that’s coming up on Saturday (umm tomorrow!) we’re figuring out. It’s pretty amazing when we pick up the phone or answer the door and we can resolve everyone’s problems. It’s been awhile and I forgot we had so much info on how to help people. Actually it was kinda fun. Because we love making notes … this happened, this happened. We took care of this and this and this! Looks good to the boss!

Hmm. Interesting … we found this morning that the color of our something is green … this is actually the second day … did some research on this … because we are not Irish. The experts say that it could be from eating leafy green vegetables. Don’t think this is it … Hmm, a day or so ago we ate spinach though in our friends dinner mix. Or, it could come from food coloring … someone had cupcakes with green frosting. I suppose between these two things the problem is covered. Cuz we know we’re not on any extra iron supplements. It would make sense then iron would turn things green. Well wait this one out … Sorry, for the lack of public decency here … just pretty interesting that my whole life I don’t remember it happening and now today is St. Patty’s day. Hmm, green Chicago beer! Now that would be a treat! Every year they turn the whole Chicago river green too. That Mayor Daley … you just gotta love his spirit! Hmm, could mean that food which starts off green in the small intestines is processing too fast through the large intestine. I guess I have to wait and see over time what happens, which would indicate I need to see a doctor.

Ugh … didn’t need this report

Other causes of green stools are:
• laxative use - no
• antibiotic use - no
• medication side effects – haven’t changed lately
• food poisoning - hmm
• celiac disease – what?
• ulcerative colitis – AHA!
• Crohn's disease – What’s this?
• Malabsorption - maybe
• irritable bowel syndrome – we were pretty crabby yesterday!
• bacterial overgrowth – would figure that we could over grow this too
• infectious diarrhea - salmonella and giardia in particular anxiety – huh?
• traveler's diarrhea – not gone anywhere
• cancer – I’m going to die
Ok, ok … enough of those thoughts. Hmm, better check to see about the next doctor’s appointment. Thought there was something at the end of this month. Hope we didn’t miss it.
Shoot, shoot … better get in the shower. Sorry about this last entry. 
