Big day, day after a good 'ol fashioned snow storm
Whoooo, quite some night last night driving home. I didn't see this accident at Midway Airport, but it is about half way between me and work (12 mile trip). Sure was a terrible thing to have happened. I feel bad about the little boy and people who had to go through it. I was grateful for that just to see Dr. M's face after the effort in getting there. Pshwoo! There were a couple of things done right ... first of all I didn't have to go through plane accident 55th and Cicero, second, I went to the washroom before getting into the car and had tank full of gas, and third I stopped at my favorite Chinese place and got a dinner, I ate on the way home while stalled in traffic :) Yayyyy!!! Didn't get anything to drink though the traffic reports were that it had been up a 3 hour, 25 minute drive. YEEKS!
This was my check-in with V :)
Hey V!!!!!
Thanks ... I was hoping someone just like you would realize I wasn't where I was supposed to be ... tucked behind my wonderful little computer and down blanket. *Sigh* Lotsa snow out there, though I imagine not as much as you are getting. Around 6" in the back parking lot. Didn't see any signs of shovel trucks. Expressway - people following grooves of guy before him ... piles in between lanes. Traffic between 5-11 mph all the way. Took me two and a half hours to get home. About a car spun out every mile for the 12 mile trip. Yeeks. Nightmare ... started getting hypnotized like. Kept thinking stay alert, stay alert. music on music off, window open window shut (too much snow biting my nose!), sit forward, sit back. Sip cold coffee. Whatever, kept thinking I have to keep a busy mind. I was sooooooo tired. And, my fingers hurt from gripping the wheel that long. The trip on a regular day 20 minutes. And, instead of 20 minutes to Dr. M's, it took 75 minutes. He took me with 20 minutes left on the clock :( So dizzy going to lay down. I'll post this email later if you don't mind ... Just soooo tired! What happened in Philly?
Mostly, though I'm ok, thanks! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

*SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH*
Ok, ok ... that's done and over ... it is now morning and we're at work :) Going to be kind of a goofy day today. I'll be leaving in about an hour to go to an Chicago South Side Advocate meeting for people with developmental disabilities. Hehehe NOPE don't have to drive! The regular driver and one of the DSPs will take me and a couple of vans of clients. Umm, I guess that still makes me in charge YAYYYYYY!!! I'm pretty familiar with the meetings. It is usually low turn out, but clients and staff and parents for everyone on the south side (23 agencies) are invited to show up and voice there opinions on on-going issues here in this part of town. The clients have been there twice before and they love it ... chance to mingle, speak-up (our group is pretty vocal), and afterward there is going to be a Kwanza celebration ... YAYYYY!! It will be my first! :)
Nothing much beside that ... Oh IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
