Ok, we made it to Thursday :)

Good morning. This morning is definitely a writing day ... because somehow or another I messed up our TV again and it's "off-line" This might be God's way of saying ... are you really working hard enough? Well, then again it just might be Rich's way of saying ... too tired after poker to fix another mishap of Ann's TV remote controlling. *Sigh* I suppose we COULD figure it out ... just rather prioritize the morning elsewhere.

Like here!

We made our morning addition to Facebook by adding a few pictures. We're thinking that maybe more effort should go into dusting that poor table we've now then spotted as being pretty dusty. But that would sorta go up against our natural grain. Maybe later. That seems to be our mantra about now ... OK, well then maybe for a while now. Anything worth putting off is worth putting off for awhile longer.

I think I have to work on improving our character. But, let's let that go for now too, k?

So what have we been doing?

One thing is that we've been leery of a deadline coming up ... we've got another administration meeting tomorrow. We want to have something for CARF ready to present. I've got a couple of things actually, but it's not where I want to be yet. We've got to be serious and hand in the report we've been working on or at least had worked on and had put off on the things we need for CARF - basically I mean by this policies and procedures AND reports. I'm hoping to finish that enough today so I can skim through and check the things we have and don't have.

Robyn finished the entry of items into the Paper Tiger so that has its own merits. We pulled out reports of the material in there. Now though we have to make use of the information in readying ourselves for CARF. There seems to be quite a bit of space not yet accounted for. It will be more handy though in writing reports and that was the contension all along.

I think their is frustration because we seem to be making so little progress in comparison to what is needed and in the meantime we're piling up other chores. We seem to just be scraping by getting things recognized as having to do them instead of doing them. This pretty much fits our MO. :(

We should be able to give a report on these few things, plus a report on the computer work done ... we took a week to care for the computers and that's a part of CARF. We'll have a few battle in that Holly is already complaining of her computer being slower, but the truth was that it was slow to begin with. I do need to go back and check the start-up programs. The main difficulty though is that Holly refuses to keep her computer turned on at night so it can do it's back-up then. So, it's running on her slow computer at the same time as she's trying to use it. Seems she wants her cake and frosting too.

If you do one silly thing the result is a silly thing and if you remain silly about it, then silly is not going to change. HMPF!

Ok, on with that. We did ask Robyn to do some work also on the State book for Regulations 119. As most other things go, we might have forgotten about it, but sister brought it back to our attention. Oh yeah. So we did the runaround necessary. We found the old copy from back in 2002 and we got the new copy and we'd already gone through and highlighted the differences, but mostly we got that set-up to work on Candice's computer so that Robyn can start to make the updates. I think it's about a 50 page problem. We'll have her do that during the time she spends with us this Friday. Or, is it next Friday. I'm forgetting already which week it is. I think maybe tomorrow is a Holly day for her.

We're also going through the meetings yet. We had another annual meeting yesterday. I real happy about yesterday in that we've been recommending to some of the parents and clients that the client become more active physically by going to the park. There was a problem for this particular client in that her mother worked until late and couldn't be picking up her daughter. The public transportation gets them to the center, and then it can do one more trip ... usually it's a trip home, but it can also be a trip to the park, if the parent can get them FROM the park.

I had to call on another parent as back-up to a conversation that was ongoing from the week previous. Then it dawned on me that she was going to the park and getting a lot from it. So we had the audacity to ask if she could help this other parent out by picking up HER daughter ... and the mother said YES! Oh man that made me so happy. That meant we'd have TWO more clients out at the park who used to be couch potatoes. I think this is a much better deal for the clients.

I think this newer client to the idea though is going to rebel a little. She's really going to like the social contacts, but she's one to avoid exercise. I don't think that's all they do at the park, but they do keep them busy. It's a good deal for her. Most are clients are in the range of their late 20's and they are much too young to go home every day to be sitting in front of the TV.

Another recommendation was that if the mother made the effort to go to Michael's to look for a decorative rug kit, then I would show the client how to do it. This person needs to be doing something again as a project that could be considered adult. She is very good working with her hands and this would give her a sense of accomplishment. I don't know if the mother had much information about the rug kit, but I'm really hoping she can get one. If not ... I might go out on a limb and try to get it for her, but I'm not sure that Sr. Theresa would approve. The best shot would be to bring the client with me, but sister is pretty conscientious about all that I've got to be getting done and she's not going to want me out doing something a parent should be doing. *Sigh*

Ok, well, I know she's right ... just I'm pretty sure this would be a good deal for the client. We'll see if the mother carries through. We'll see.

We've been working with our Outlook program again

Oh yeah ... just snuck in our shower. Good Ann. We took a couple more pictures so that you could see the mouse and bathrobe and fan that we'd referred to on our Facebook page. Basically its a Rich plot against the kitties. He's trying to DISCOURAGE them from coming into the bedroom to wake us up too early. This time it worked!

I also tried waking Rich up this morning, but he seems pretty tired. We're going to let him sleep a bit longer although he asked for just 10 minutes. After playing poker 'til nearly midnight ... he really does need a bit more sleep. I don't think he had any pressing appointments this morning.

Ok, so then where are we at here? It's just a few moments after 6 am. Work check? Naw don't think there is anything I am going to do now toward work before getting out the door. We really need to focus on the CARF reports when we get to work. This is going to be the first and major priority of the day. We can do it, right? Just have to concentrate.

We should probably close down in about 15 minutes. It seems to work better starting 15 minutes earlier in getting ready and out the door. Part of this is that it takes a while to get all our electronics in order. Basically the order is this.

Unplug all the gizmos. Basically there is 6 connections. We are plugging in the iPod, the camera battery, the netbook, the headphones, the phone, and the Mi-fi. We want to make sure before getting out with the day that everything is up to par. After we hook or unhook all the wires, we need to put them into their proper containers. Most of this stuff follows with us to work. So that most of this stuff gets put in one of a couple bags. Some goes in our small camera bag - especially the gizmos, and then the cords and netbook go into the backpack. Sometimes we bring home our briefcase and then things get put through that, but we've been trying to hold back on that unless really necessary like bringing home big piles of stuff from work. The bigger cords get put into the backpack - you've already seen our nice grouping of cords through the Velcros sleeve.

There are other things already prepared. We've taken our medicine and prepared our lunch, so those things are ready to be grabbed on the way out. We still have to get dressed and use the washroom one more time. Rich is now almost up. He got up to use the washroom and seems to have gone back to bed. But, the last step is that we want to turn on the headphone and iPod and get us ready to walk out the door,

That's about it for the morning. I'd like to think that we're not just running the same thoughts over and over again in our head, but it seems to take time before we can make impressionable indentations on our thoughts so that we are remembering them. There are still parts of us that get confused over simple actions of moving from the couch with kitties and computer to the point of walking out the door. Maybe more than anything that keeps some of our parts motivated is that we're going to get an apple fritter soon. Just got to continue. You can do it, right?

AHH ... and you know what? Today is a Dr. Marvin day! WOOHOO!!!
