Good Use of an Extra Hour's Time :)
Good morning. This is me … a little worse for ware. Ok, ok … it’s not that bad, but we’re still feeling the affects from having stayed up a bit last night to finish the paper. We are going to try using some of this remaining morning time to be getting back to school. We need to start a pattern of using our time more productively, especially during the week.
In the background we are loading one of the video’s from last night. Unfortunately, there will be only one video. The first 86% of 7 hours of video work is going to be lost toward viewing, because I didn’t realize how many MB went into an acceptable length of video for uploading at Hipcast.com. It turned out at about 6 hours to be a little over twice the accepted space allowed. I am going to need concentrating on recording at two hour intervals of time. We figure that will make it ok. We’re a little disappointed, but am ok … because it was a good morning and we did get the video made without any problems. Feel good about that part. And, we’re pretty sure that we can’t cut the present video in parts to be uploaded. Eh, we’ll live. I liked the process nonetheless.
So, we just talked to V about 3 minutes, he’s off to work for the day AND we have about an hour left. We’ve got a hot cup of coffee and our bowl of cereal almost done and am thinking, why don’t we figure out what we have to do next for school. K?
Ok, we reviewed the assignment … It seems we are already going to be working toward our next major paper. I think we are going to need to be working on it throughout the semester, because every 2-3 weeks there is a part of the assignment due like annotated bibliography and outline, or something. At this point we already need to be thinking of an area we would like to study in social psychology. They are only asking though for one research article toward what we will be working on. I would of course like to do something toward the self-regulation work, but I might have to take a more social approach. I would like to research a bit further into either framing/modeling or attachment theory. I’m not sure if both are considered within social psychology.
Ok, ok … moving right along here … we defined the area of our next paper. It is going to be on “Social Comparison Theory Affecting Self-concept and Applied to Learning.” We emailed ourselves the results of 16 articles pulled from EbscoHOST research database using the abstract keywords self and social comparison theory. Great start. I believe we are going to need 25 references for the annotated bibliography, but we can pull more articles possibly using social comparison theory and learning. Aha those are now on its way too … It is an additional 25 resources, though we are pretty sure that some of the work will be duplicated from the first list. Good work this morning you! Ok, time to get a move on it. 6:44 … how about shower and medicine? Good girl!
