Ready to Start the Day!!
Good morning … Have a chair … things are just getting started here. We woke up right on schedule with the Vster this morning … had our morning chat and figured out how to make the coffee pot work. I’m a little disappointed that there are only about 3 plugs in the room and two of those are in the bathroom. I’ve got soooo many things to plug in hehehhe. But, we’re very happy to be here. We looked at the agenda and it appears that we’ll be starting with an 8 am continental breakfast … we’ll have something most likely if they are serving sweets, but for all practical purposes we’ve eaten left over Chinese. We’ll try a different place this evening, because the one we tried last night … well it wasn’t Chicago Chinese!
We didn’t get a very good sleep last night. The bed seemed comfortable enough … it was soft covers not scratchy. But, we tossed and turned. We’re just not used to laying down to sleep. Maybe we’ll handle it better tonight, or will have to resort to the chair. Eh, worse things have happened ;)
We caught V. on line last night as soon as we posted this …
V ... sorry I missed you ... Deb and I talked and she was pretty certain I needed some staples. Chips, pop, Chinese, and wine. I was supposed to get bread and meat and donuts, but I'd been out and confused enough. Couldn't find any sandwich meat ... what kinda place is that? Well, actually it was a Speedway ... I figured too much pop and potato chips not the good stuff. No coffee filters either. Klenexes will have to do. We remembered to bring our own coffee ... Maybe more in a bit ... we're going to check out sweetie pie Hehehe. We're around! Hmm, take medicine? Yah pretty sure you would both say that.
OOOhhhh a nice warmth around the high cheek bones. Come on V ... we could drink together now! We're drinking Beringer Founder Estate Cabernet Sauvignon California '03. It wouldn't matter if it were a scruffy table wine ... like the happy!
Well, at least that kind of explains last night!!
This is this morning, but now it’s even lighter than that. I wanted to get a few more pictures in before charging up the batteries. I think we’re going to work now at getting the shower set up … It’s about 6:21 Eastern time. I’ve got the room at the corner so that is kind of neat … We didn’t hear anybody that might wake us up so that was nice. That first car you can barely see is ours. She was happy to hit the road and didn’t give us a lick of trouble.
We’re staying at a Mariott by the way … Hmm, they sure do keep nice maintenance of the grounds … got that much going for them. Oh, ok … one more look at that little duck pond.
Anybody for a morning swim? Ok, ok … maybe better we take a shower. The floor is pretty slippery in the shower, so we’re going to have to be careful. I thought it was funny when we packed this time … our suitcase on wheels isn’t very big, but since mostly everything was hanging up this time, everything in the suitcase seemed to be in plastic bags, unless you were a shoe, which meant you roamed freely. And, of course our dog … as you can see he’s slept in this morning! Bum!
Ok, ok .. we can’t both be lazy … I’ll be right back
Ahh better! I guess we’ll just leave dog sleep a little longer … He said he didn’t sleep a wink on the drive here. Don’t say anything, but we put him in with the shoes and such, so he’s not so happy. Maybe he’ll ride back in the front seat … we’ll see.
I’ve got about an hour left before breakfast. I suppose I could turn on the news, but I’m not so sure I would like all that noise. Naw, don’t want to do that. I might check out school though … Seems to me we should be doing something toward that. Let’s find out where we’re at, k? BRB
