Guess what? Guess What??
Afternoon. This is me … the guilty one. I don’t know all of what happened this morning, but I think I’m partly to blame. We’ve been kind of roaming … but we weren’t thinking of stuff proper. I think at some point I must have, but the point is … I’m here now and have to do something about it. I remember the intern had checked in. Thinking though that was about 8 am.
I think I lost time too, because we lost the document we’d worked on yesterday. Just didn’t save it proper and the computer started up again by itself last night. The only way I know how to do things is to start from here first. As far as yesterday … our friend had come over and we got the license and cleaned the car and made an appointment for Thursday morning to get her checked over. Oh now I know what through us … two things … one is that we read a Business Week article on Web 2.0 and became overly interested in all that … It lead us to a networking place on line called, “Academici.” We’ve been exploring that. And, we wrote out using mapquest and Word a long picture and written direction map for the Ohio trip. We had to ask our sweetie for help getting a printed copy. He’s facing some pretty tough stuff and I didn’t want to bother him. We’re hoping he finds his strength with it. I know its got him worried. Hmm, he just signed on. Not sure if he’ll contact me. Hmm, he’s looking at it now.
My Grandmother was another nice thing that happened yesterday. She still gets tired, but seems to get a lot of things done around there. She was taking care of a sorting task. We mostly talked about one of my cousins that she is very proud of. He had brought her an extra bag of groceries for her birthday and she was still putting things away. I like that she is getting good things to eat, like she has a special tomato she likes. She pays attention to a lot of little details. I guess that wouldn’t surprise you though would it? I have to prepare better for her asking me what I’ve done with my time. I don’t think about it and then she’s asking and I’m stumbling around trying to figure out what I did. Yesterday I had read a chapter from the text for about 5 hours outside.
The weather was very nice. And, then beside the running stuff our friend helped us with, we also got to try out a new Chinese restaurant. We probably won’t go back there too much. The food was too fancy for us like squid and shark fin soup and the smoothie came with tapioca in the shape of pinkie size brown soft balls. Hmm, that was interesting. You could do a few, because they were fairly tasteless, but my straw kept grabbing them and that was no good. The place was new and we were the only ones there. That’s always a little odd too. You might imagine the cost was prohibitive.
Ok, that’s about all I guess … I want to get another paper finished. A lot of time to make up. Best get started. I’m pretty sure I’m not the smart one though. When I figured out 20 minutes ago we were in trouble we sent ourselves an SOS on the PDA.
Guess what I got!!! I did shopping! Umm, what ever time it was before the pictures … it’s a lot later now … It’s 8:30 about. Our friend is going to be sooooo proud. We went shopping by ourselves! We got in on a day there were what they called triple perks. That means I opened up a credit card so got a 20% discount, plus another store coupon discount of 10%, plus some of the items were on sale. We spent $325 for 18 items, but only paid $230, so a total $95.00 savings hmm, about an average then of less than $13 an item. … I could get to liking that kind of deal. The bad part is that we have to shop a specialty store and there aren’t a lot our size and they are phasing out dresses. There was a lot of skirts, mid-things and pants, but I don’t like wearing those things. Basically I had two small racks to shop from … Not even one of those big carousal type. I tried on every dress in every color. Seems we’re between sizes right now. And the colors weren’t right on a some of the stuff. So many things had to go back. We found like 3 dresses (a great deal!), 3 lounging things … They’re beautiful and were only $12 marked down … Really nice! You’ll see. I got the above, and about 3 of those, three of those, and three of those … umm underthings … AND, I got some flip flops with nifty neato cushions. Cool stuff … Then I figured I better get some new shoes. I was going to foot locker, but I didn’t find one so ended up in a Payless instead. I didn’t know what to expect. That place was pretty terrible there were little kids wrestling in my aisle and another poor little boy that got smacked by his mother. Made me want to cry. Our feet are in pretty bad shape, so I knew we couldn’t do open toe sandals. We looked at the open back kind and decided … umm our feet didn’t look so good there either. So then we looked at more dress casual, but we weren’t at a very good store, so those looked terrible too. Then we decided specially since we use a cane that we should have sensible shoes. Since they had one of those buy one get one free days or something like that … we got TWO sets of tennis shoes. One is black and the other is white. Yup yup that’s how we take care of those crises. Usually I wear scruffy tennis shoes with holes in them AND I have one “good” black shoes. Umm, they’re sensible too, but at least a little dressier than the others. So, that was pretty much the day. It took a long time to get checked out because their machine wasn’t working and while we were there one of those pizza guys in a truck stopped by the clothes store and said medium size meat pizzas only $6! Hot! Woo Hoo! Got in on that deal, cuz it was already like 5:30. Then he said 2 for $11.00. We didn’t want that so had skipped it, but then I felt bad for the poor sales girls, especially the one who’d help me so much trying on things and getting me deals. So, we bought her a pizza. Shoot, she saved me $95 AND had the courage to tell me the colors that didn’t look as good AND she never got mad about anything. Her father had died from a stress heart attack one year ago and she was determined not to get stressed out. She was the kinda girl you wanted to take home AND she kept calling people nice names like baby and sweetie … you know that wins big time in our book! Hehehehe She made the day very nice. I appreciated her a lot. She kept saying don’t worry take your time we don’t close until 9 pm. Heheheh she was a sweetie!
The bad part was that when I got home and checked they had accidentally charged my account twice. I wanted to use their credit card … I was allowed $300 wooo HOOO. But, I didn’t want a balance on it. So after I got my 20% discount with the card, I asked to pay it off. She tried over and over with the broken machine and didn’t realize one of the times it had gone through. In the meantime, I had gone to another Catherine’s that didn’t have a broken machine, because I know I’m terrible with account balances. That charge went through … but as I said now there are two amounts against the card. I called the first store and they said it be no problem fixing it, but I’d have to wait until the store manager was in during the morning. That was plenty fine with me. AND, after everything was done … we went to a drive out Baskin Robins/Dunkin Donuts and GOT WATER!!!! Nope, nothing else Well, there was something between the shoe store and the 2nd clothing store, but we’re not going to discuss that. HMPF!
So, figure we should be trying out the bed. Oh, you want to see my nifty-neato flip-flops first?? Ohhhhh You! You thrill me! Ok, ok … wait we’ll show you
Yup, yup … SPARKLY THINGS! I never NEVER had SPARKLY shoes! Hehehe we won’t wear them any further than the balcony, but thinking we must be pretty special to get SPARKLY shoes!!!
$6.47 WOOO HOOOOO!!!!
