my "permanent" introduction entry ~ my journal entries begin BELOW
Sunday Head Noise : facing my fear

elcome to my Head Noise !!

Yesterday

i'm still recovering from having my mom leave after staying with us for 2 months .. after having no contact with her for so many years it was a wonderful experience being able to spend so much time with her .. in essence, both of us getting to know each other all over again

one of the really good things that came from moms visit was the reintroduction to my family .. those folks that i "lost in my divorce" 10 years ago .. i have spent the last 2 months focusing on getting to know my siblings and their families and its been rewarding beyond words

yesterday we spent the day with my little sister, susie .. she had a day without her son and without her husband .. i actually had a few hours of time alone with her since my little one had another cooking class

suz was really impressed with the cd's i'd made for mom and i told her i'd be glad to burn her a couple of cd's too .. so she'd given me a list of oldies that she wanted to listen to and we took awhile to let her choosefrom the hundreds of oldies that i've already downloaded .. i know that there is some uproar, somewhere, claiming that file sharing is nothing short of theft .. my only consolation is that the songs i download (well 99% of them) are from 45's, albums and cds that i already own or at least owned in my lifetime .. i wonder if i get thrown into jail if they'll take that into account hehe

the rest of the day we spent talking and sharing and cooking .. we made up a huge batch of chili verde so that there would be enough to share with her family when she got home .. it was pretty tasty but more importantly she is a great gal for sharing things with .. she chips in and helps out, not the type to wait to be asked to do something .. in that aspect, she is a lot like me .. seeing things that need to be done and just doing it

unfortunately we hadn't eatten all day so when we picked kissy up from her italian cooking class we ripped the lid off and proceeded to devour my daughters hard work in 5 minutes and then we head off to the pet store to buy my daughter her long awaited hamster .. he's a cute little guy, his name is samson .. a long hair teddy bear hamster .. and as nice as could be.

We spent the rest of the day getting acclimated to his new home. We couldn't help ourselves and just had to hold him .. amazingly he didn't bite ! i like the little fella already if i remember, i'll post a picture of him today

bakin cookies

since my sister suz and i talked away the day yesterday we never got around to making a batch of our familys favorite cookies so guess what i'm doing this morning !! they're called aggression cookies and definately a hit with everyone i know .. plus they're soooo easy to make

Aggression Cookies

3 cups brown sugar; 3 cups softened butter; 6 cups oatmeal; 1 tablespoon baking soda; 3 cups flour

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mash, knead, squeeze and generally take out your frustrations on the dough. Continue doing this until dough is well mixed. Form into small balls and place on an UNGREASED cookie sheets. Butter bottom of glass, dip into granulated sugar and press the balls flat. Keep doing it until you use up all the dough. Butter the glass only once or twice but redip it in sugar for each ball. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.

This recipe makes a LOT of cookies but they won't last long. Keep them partially uncovered during storage to keep them crisp.

Enjoy !!

testing :)

i've decided to give the option of adding an entry from an IM .. testing testing lol

another family member

well here we go again lol this little guy showed up at our doorstep yesterday morning .. hungry and tired .. obviously he's never been touched by human hands .. i figure he's about 4 weeks old .. he spent the day avoiding human contact and trying to make friends with our 4 cats .. he spent the entire day inside sleeping his cares away .. surprisingly they've been extremely patient with him .. at bed time i checked out back where the cats hang out in the evening because its cooler outside and there he was .. just hanging out like one of the gang .. it took me all day to figure out if the little guy is eating he'll let us pet him .. we've named him sherbert .. and NO .. i don't really need another cat .. but when i say i never turn away any animal that shows up at my door hungry, i mean it:)
