Hmm ... Things started out so-so ...

Good morning … this is me now … this is me Sunday night trying to get some help at Best Buy on their 1-888 number. I think a service provider services can be measured by how angry they make you over the phone. Best Buy kept me on line through a total of 9 representatives. The last one did that convenience thing of shifting us to a number that dropped me altogether. You’ve gone through it before … you call, get frustrated and then they transfer you, but all you hear is the dial tone. We got lucky this time in that our Sweetie surprised us with a visit within moments of being put through service hell.

The only difference between Best Buy phone service and Microsoft phone service is that Microsoft is charging you for the runaround and their representatives are older. I don’t know why I continue to get frustrated by these calls. I guess somewhere I expect to get assistance … I’m thinking here that companies are trying to get by with paying their reps very little money, so they are coming without experience. I’m also thinking that the reps don’t last very long, because … who wants to deal with not knowing what the h*(_*& is going on? “Let me put you on hold for a minute while I get someone who knows what he’s talking about …” Yah, right! 9 Reps … this has to be my all-time record.

I’m starting to see a pattern here … If you get me on the phone and are talking some form of nonsense … I’m apt to get crabby. Same though goes for a long car ride when you’re hungry and then get stuck behind a bus, a train, and people turning left. Grrrr.

Ok, ok … going to let that go.

We just went over to school. For the record it is 3 am. The Prof God Bless her Soul is continuing the patience of a Saint. I won’t give up as long as she doesn’t.

In the meantime and just briefly … my day yesterday went pretty good all considering. Sweetie Pie was home cooking when I got here. He’s another blessing of unquantifiable belief. He was making sure I would have enough meals to last while he was gone. And, you know what? There’s another watermelon in my fridge! He also said we were going to try another form of lunch. He got for me those snackable stackable cracker, cheese and meat lunches. There are enough in there to carry me a couple of weeks. I’m going to need to make it work. I am very conscientious that I’m bigger now than before and I don’t like it this way.

He’s been over now the last three nights in a row and he said that he canceled his Thursday night game to come over … think he wants me to come home early though because he wants to do something with his son that night too. He will be leaving sometime on Friday for the big trip.

We are talking more than fooling around these past few days. I just watch his eyes and sometimes they make me cry because they are so beautiful. He seems to be tucking me in and our tiredness is not allowing us to even hear him shut the door on the way out. But, in between there is quite a bit of holding and hugging and hands-on massaging. I think with every swoop, I must let go of all things less important and finally just relax in his care. He’s just so gosh darn good.

We talked a little about our work yesterday, but not much. I was able to hold the line, but still left with not as much accomplished as I would like. My standards are higher than they used to be … I’m frustrated that the Annual report is going to take a week, even though I know in the past it has taken a month and longer. I am a much more efficient and effective writer now than I have been in the past. I know hard to believe with the length of some of my posts. You might have to take my words for it here. Yesterday, we worked through the little blurbs that get placed in between the paragraphs. We got them from an important publication of the Sisters. We had found this wonderful frame to go around each. I like it a lot and it color coordinates with the general scheme that the secretary chose.

The next part was that we wrote the program section, the CARF meeting in OH and about the Performance Analysis. That was about it for one day. Sr. came in before lunch to give me some more information and we had her check the blurbs. She chose the couple that she liked best and added another from the founder. That was pretty cool. Then at the end of the day, we left our copy of where we’ve gotten to so far on her desk. I am hoping that she will be pleased with the writing and progress. She’s making sure my schedule stays cleared as much as possible and we appreciate that. We’ve all set goals on completing her by the end of the week. I think the hard part is going to be getting in the surveys. Sr. only has 2/3rds of them in and she’s putting a Thursday deadline on the parents. I think the secretary is almost completed with the individuals, but that is the one that really takes some time to go through. There were 46 clients this last year and they are surveyed once a month, so it adds up. We go through all of them one at a time and register them by count. We did a nice job last year in placing them in the report artistically. I’m thinking I’ll do something like that again this year, but not sure quite what kind of patterns I’m going to use. We’re also going to need taking a look at the pictures that Sr. and/or secretary has chosen, because I’m several pages into the report and don’t have too many yet. I’ve used a few things that I have around the computer.

Today, I will work toward getting the individuals’ survey done, I think. Maybe I can use some of the client pictures for it … We sort of have the candy land board in mind here. Or, we could work on demographics, the State/ARC meeting, the people we thank, and the community. Hmm, maybe still the individuals’ survey, because that really is the most time consuming. It just doesn’t show up as if we’d done so much … The two sections on finance, we have to wait on until the accountants finish up the year and I think that really is about it … Can’t remember what we’re forgetting. Seems good to go. We should probably get some of the stuff up to the secretary by the end of the day so she can insert. I would give it to her earlier, but I want to make sure she finishes the surveys. Be nice if she did the acknowledgement too. That’s just a matter of typing things over again. Everything is saved … it’s just a matter of putting things to the disk. Hmm, maybe to give her enough time, we’ll take the individuals’ surveys off her hand this morning and give to her instead the disk to conjoin what I’ve done with her formatting. Yep, yep that’s a plan … and because it will “look more done” it will make everyone happy.

Ok, ok … we’re just stalling now … We’re in good shape with the report now have to let it go. NEXT. Paper. I think we left off last time on reading. If my memory serves we have about 20 more pages to read. Better skim that now to see what we’re actually going to need. Better pull up the final document. Hmm, this is the next report.

Oh oh … it’s a long one …

u10d2 Intelligence

Part I: Thoroughly trace how intelligence has been defined and measured through time. How do early views and tests of intelligence differ from more contemporary models of intelligence? How are they similar? What are your viewpoints about whether the concept of IQ explains a person's overall intellectual functioning and whether affective or emotional intelligence theories are helpful in understanding an individual's psychological well-being?

Part II: Contextualists underscore the importance of viewing intelligence within a given context. What are some aspects of your social, mental, or physical context that you consider important to the expression of your intelligence?

Hmm, about 9 pages to complete the reading for this paper and the last paper on artificial intelligence is going to be another 11 pages. As much as I would like to just forget the reading and just look for the answers … I’ve not been able to do that yet. I need our system of highlighting, because when we go back to answer the questions, that is usually the parts I pull from. Better get to it then … It’s almost 4 am now … let’s see if I can complete the reading by 5 am. AND, maybe get a few minutes to talk to V. if he signs on. Then we’d have an hour and a half to start the paper. We’ll make it a goal to get part 1 done. Ok, girls … sounds good, let’s get going! More coffee too!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Oh oh … V’s up … this is us believing cough cough that he’s taking care of himself …

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting This is us not being sold on V’s program.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting This is us feeling frustrated because he tends to avoid conversation about himself when he isn’t doing the stuff he should be … LIKE RECOVERING instead of WORKING!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Me thinking we’re going to leave V’s space to work on school work, which at the moment seems more satisfying. Never trust a doctor to get well on his own! That’s the lesson here … HMPF!

READING … Shhhh….

Oh man oh man … didn’t write the paper, but we finished the chapter …. YAYYYY we conquered Sternberg, 2003!!!!!!!!!!! Yeeks! Shower! We’re late!

YAYYYY!!!

7 am … we’re doing it!
