Just a few notes - think it's going to be a good day

Good morning! It’s me … rise and shine! It’s pretty late in my morning though. I was up earlier but I sent off a few emails and said good-bye to smoochie-face way back an hour and a half ago. It’ now 6:30 am and I only have about 15-20 minutes before going to work. I want to say one more welcome … Betsy from MarineParents.com is getting the official invite today to read the blog.

So far it is only Dr. Marvin, my current psychiatrist, Dr. Woolcott, my past psychiatrist, Maury my son, V and Deb, Lynn and Vickie. Hmm, is that it? Think so! I don’t usually write to any one person – just to people in general, but as long as anyone would like to read, we welcome you! I’m very appreciative for the company. :) Rich has always an invite to read – especially since so much appears to be in his favor, but he most often doesn’t read unless I cut something special out and email it to him. Eh, just turned out that way.

As to this morning news? Hmm, still glowing from the after-mist of our sons graduating MCT. Vickie’s son is going to Iraq most likely within the month, and Lynn’s, Betsy’s and my son are all graduating MCT today … Congrats folks!!! Job well done!

I know Thom is really excited to be going on. I can’t imagine that all our boys aren’t looking forward to the next parts of their adventures. Each day they get better and better trained to be doing whatever they are going to be called on for.

I’m really glad to have a few people that I can trust to go through the next parts with. We’re still over at the message board, but haven’t written since last week.

We’ll get over there soon … Just been so gosh darn busy writing and working. If it’s not one it’s the other and if it isn’t that we’re reading.

Well, with the exception we get hungry and tired … and well yes, we use the washroom … Ok, ok … let’s not get particular!

On yesterday’s agenda … I had thought we were going to do a staffing … but, it turns out that we didn’t have one and that it was next Monday instead. WOOHOO!! That was like found time! So, we just did the regular things in helping out up front, with goals and paperwork for the new sister – and if truth be told the rest of the day?

Well, most of it was spent getting a new bulletin board up. What we did was went into the “Operation Pal” letters of Marines who have been wounded. And, we took out excerpts of what had happened to them and we glued it onto a caricature of a Marine saluting … there were about 40 of these, but only a couple dozen fit on the board.

We also had an intro sheet centered in the middle of the board, and little note tags. Basically, what we’re inviting those from the center to do is to take down one or several Marine stories and write to them, and when they take down the story – they put in replacement one of the little note tags that said who and when someone had written to this wounded warrior. I hope that the folks take us up on the chore and get some letters written.

This is pretty much a carry-over of where we were before in trying to write letters … in a sense think past ourselves to where someone else might be. It’s hard to keep re-focusing outside the box, but I think in the long run the better we get at it, the more complete we will feel. I’m really strongly for the Marines – as are the rest of you. Can’t say enough about the sacrifices people are making for their homes and country. This is a good time to be alive.

God bless the Marines!
